Ingredients

  • 1 package (18.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
  • 3 tablespoons instant coffee
  • 1 container (16 oz.) ready-to-spread white frosting
  • Green food coloring
  • Green sugar crystals
  • White fondant
  • Black fondant
  • Red fondant

Directions

Step 1

PREHEAT oven to 350°F.

Step 2

PLACE Reynolds® StayBrite® Baking Cups in muffin pans; set aside.

Step 3

PREPARE cake mix following package directions for 24 cupcakes, adding 3 tablespoons instant coffee before mixing. Spoon batter into baking cups.

Step 4

BAKE following package directions. Cool.

Step 5

TINT frosting green.

Step 6

SPREAD frosting onto cupcakes.

Step 7

SPRINKLE cupcakes with sugar crystals.

Step 8

MAKE playing cards: 1. Roll-out white, black and red fondant. 2. For cards, cut white fondant into rectangles about 1-inch X 2-inches. 3. Cut heart, diamond, club and spade shapes using a tiny cutter or a knife with a sharp tip. Cut letters or numbers for the cards. 4. Moisten the backs of the fondant shapes and adhere to the cards. 5. Place 1 or 2 cards on each cupcake.
