Ingredients
- 2 1/2 pounds Granny Smith apples, (10 large), peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- Juice of one lemon (about 3 Tablespoons)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter OR margarine, cut in pieces
- TOPPING:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup milk
Directions
Step 1
PREHEAT oven to 375°F.
Step 2
LINE a 13x9x2-inch baking dish with Reynolds Wrap® Pan Lining Paper with parchment paper side toward food. Crimp Pan Lining Paper around rim of pan; set aside.
Step 3
PLACE apple slices in a large bowl. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
Step 4
COMBINE sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt; sprinkle mixture over apples; mix well. Pour into lined dish; spread in an even layer. Dot with butter.
Step 5
FOR TOPPING Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix in butter until crumbly. Stir in milk until mixture is a soft dough. Place teaspoonfuls of dough over hot apples, covering top surface.
Step 6
BAKE 30 minutes. Using a plastic spoon, stir apples.
Step 7
CONTINUE BAKING 20 to 25 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
