  • 2/3 cup sugar 
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened 
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla 
  • 1 egg 
  • 2 cups Pillsbury BEST® all-purpose flour 
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 
  • 1/2 cup Smucker’s® (any flavor) red jelly or preserves 


Step 1

Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, beat sugar and butter with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg; beat well. Add flour and baking powder; stir well.

Step 2

Divide dough into equal parts. On lightly floured surface, shape each part into inch roll; place on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Using handle of wooden spoon or finger, make depression about 1/2 inch wide and 1/4 inch deep lengthwise down center of each roll. Fill each roll with tablespoons jelly.

Step 3

Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool slightly. Cut each baked roll diagonally into cookies. Cool on cooling racks.
