Oven Bag Applesauce

Fall is in the air, and that means that apple picking season is here! I have a really easy way to use up your apples: make homemade applesauce with help from Reynolds® Oven Bags!

- 3 lb bag of Apples (I used fuji, but you can also go with something more tart)
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 cup Water
- 1 Tbsp Flour
- 1 Reynolds® Oven Bag
Preheat the oven to degrees.
Peel, core, and roughly chop your apples into bitesize pieces. In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as / cup water. Mix to combine.
Place flour in Reynolds® Oven Bag. Close the bag with your hands and give it a good shake to distribute the flour throughout the bag. Place the Reynolds® Oven Bag in your ovensafe baking dish and then add your apple mixture to the bag. Add the remaining / cup of water.
Use the provided oven bag ties and close the bag. Then cut small slits in the top of the oven bag to provide some ventilation while cooking. Tuck the area of the bag where the opening and tab closure is under the rest of the bag, and place in the oven for minutes.
When you remove your apples from the oven, give them a touch (be sure you are wearing oven mitts!). If they still seem somewhat firm, put them back in the oven. If they give easily, then they are ready! Carefully cut a large slit in the bag (watch out for the steam!) and give the apple mixture a good stir. Let it cool for minutes.
Once it has cooled down a bit, transfer the mixture to a food processor, or to a large bowl if you have a hand held blender. Using either tool, blend the ingredients until you have achieved your desired consistency. Sprinkle each serving with a little extra cinnamon, if so desired. Enjoy!
