Reynolds Kitchens Tip

Here’s a handy tip if your foil is not wide enough to completely cover your pan. Tear off two sheets of foil that about 2 inches longer than your pan.Lay one sheet on top of the other.Make 4 to 5 half-inch foils down one side of the length of the foil.Open the unfolded side to make a sheet of foil wide enough to line your pan.

  • 10 pound fully cooked, unsliced ham
  • 1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • Dash (up to 1/8 teaspoon) cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup of orange marmalade or apricot preserves
  • Fresh juice of 3 large oranges (about 1 ½ cups)
  • Fresh juice of 1 lemon (about 3 tablespoons)
  • Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil

Step 1

PREHEAT the oven to 400°. LINE a 13x9x2-inch pan with Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil; set aside.

Step 2

TRIM skin and excess fat from ham, leaving a thin layer of fat. Score surface of ham by lightly cutting diamond shapes into the thin layer of fat on the ham. PLACE the ham in the foil-lined pan with skin side up; set aside.

Step 3

COMBINE brown sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon and cayenne pepper in a large microwave safe bowl until thoroughly mixed. ADD marmalade, orange juice and lemon juice to the bowl. WHISK gently until mixture is thoroughly blended.

Step 4

COVER bowl and vent for steam to escape. MICROWAVE 4 minutes on high power. Remove and CAREFULLY WHISK until smooth. Recover and continue HEATING on high power for 2 to 4 minutes, carefully whisking every 2 minutes until hot, bubbly and slightly thickened. BRUSH half the glaze over the ham. Reserve the remaining glaze to serve with ham.

Step 5

BAKE for 45 minutes in preheated oven, basting with the glaze every 15 minutes, until ham is golden browned.

Step 6

COVER ham with a fresh sheet of foil and let stand 15 minutes before slicing. SLICE ham and serve drizzled with warm glaze.
